The chemical peeling for skin resurfacing is effective but it has been defamed by the technology. For special cases, such as skin discoloration is impossible to replace it. The above procedures may be performed on an outpatient basis using local anaesthesia after medication for complete mental and physical calmness. Hospitalization may be required for a period of one day. For more extensive resurfacing, on an anxious patient, general anaesthesia may be recommended. Mild swelling and discomfort may be experienced afterwards; however this can be controlled by using the correct medication.
There will be some crusting of the skin, but this will most likely be gone in approximately 6-7 days. The skin will be pink to red over the next 6 to 8 weeks, but with makeup this may be concealed in after 2 weeks. Some pinkness will remain for up to 3 months.
If some wrinkles are still visible after skin resurfacing, additional treatment with injectable filler may be required.
